Introduction to BhuNaksha

The literal meaning of BhuNaksha in UP is ‘Land Records’. BhuNaksha is also known as Bhulekha. With the view to easing out the process of viewing, downloading and printing the maps online the government of UP has come up with an idea to develop a website that will deal with this idea.

The citizens apart from the BhuNaksha can also find the details of the land owner, Khasra number, type of the land, Khatauni, etc. on the web portal of UP BhuNaksha. Access to the portal is being granted by the Department of Land Records (DLRS) of the government of Uttar Pradesh.

The Benefits of Developing the UP BhuNaksha

The reasons for developing this platform are to serve/fulfil two purposes and these are as follows:

  • Curbing Fraudulent and Corruptive Practices: The first reason for developing the BhuNaksha Portal is to curb down the fraudulent and corruptive land practices prevailing in the state. The Portal is designed to inform the buyers so that they don’t enter into fraudulent land transactions.
  • Transparency: The second most important reason for developing the UP BhuNaksha Portal is more transparency in land transactions.
  • Efficiency: With the help of the modern digitised UP BhuNaksha portal the efficiency in land transactions has evolved. The citizen can now access the land records, download and even print them just by sitting at their homes.
  • Time Saver: As we have discussed the citizens are not required to manually go to the office to obtain the land records instead they can visit this Portal from anywhere in the world and access the land information as soon as it gets updated.
  • Verification of the True Size of the Plot: The UP BhuNaksha Portal incorporates the exact boundary details of the Plot.
  • Details of the Proprietor: The name of the registered proprietor of the land along with the Khata number and their address can be verified on the UP BhuNaksha Portal.
