Topological Maps are created from topological surveys which are conducted at different scales. These Maps reveal diverse elevations and features of the land while the Cadastral Maps work to define the government and private boundaries.

What is a Cadastral Plan?

A cadastre is based on a Cadastral Plan. Cadastral Plans are based on the survey plan and these survey plans are prepared by the licensor or the surveyors. This licensor/surveyor prepares the survey plans by visiting and measuring the land in person. Therefore, these survey plans are static because it has measured and recorded the boundaries of the property at the time of the new property.

Difference between Cadastral Plan and Cadastral Maps

  •  A Cadastral Map is the combination of two or more Cadastral Plans. However, the Cadastral Plan is not based on the Cadastral Maps.
  • A Cadastral Map has no legislative backing while a Cadastral Plan has a legislative back.
  • Cadastral Maps are the most widely used maps in the world as it is created on Public Demand while Cadastral Plans are not.

Conclusion

A Cadastral Map helps in understanding the original details of the property whether it is about the boundaries, village, town, owners or the location of the property. With the help of this the disputes related to the property can be curbed and this is why it becomes an essential element of the property transactions.
