Online Traffic Challan Filing in Gurgaon

• Visit the Parivahan portal at https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in
• Click on the option of ‘check e-challan status’.
• Once done, on the page, enter your challan number, vehicle number or the
• driving licence number.
• Enter the captcha code.
• Click on ‘get details’.
• The website will show your challan details on the screen.
• Choose to make the payment with the preferred payment mode.
• Enter the details and your payment will be complete.

• Gurugram Traffic Police Website: You can visit the Gurugram Traffic Police website and click on the “Pay Challan Online” option.
• Parivahan website: You can also visit the Parivahan website and click on the “Pay Your Challan” option.

All funded challans and issued payments in Gurgaon have to be settled in all cases. In case there exists an outstanding challan, the person will be summoned to appear in a court of law in the city of Gurgaon in order to make the necessary payments. Apart from the already mentioned indirect costs of nonpayment of the challans in Gurgaon, there are also risks of additional late fees.

• Go to the official site: Access the traffic department or the transport department’s Parivahan Seva web portal.
• Put in Challan information: Provide the required information including e-challan number, vehicle number and captcha.

• Select a payment option: Choose the payment option of your choice.

 

The payment of an e-challan must be made within 60 days from the date of its issuance. Where the payment is not made, the challan shall be referred to the court. An e-challan can be issued for every type of traffic offense committed.

You can choose to pay your traffic challan online through the government portal or visit a virtual court, which is specifically established for handling challans. For physical challans, you must obtain a Road Number from the Traffic Tower in Gurugram before proceeding to court.

• For physical challans, you need to follow these steps:
  1. Obtain a Road Number from the Traffic Tower.
  2. Prepare a file with required documents: Aadhar Card, application, and challan copy.
  3. Attend the hearing, where the judge will determine any fines.
  4. After paying the fine, collect the receipt and take it back to the Traffic Tower to have your challan removed from the online portal.
• For digital challans:
  1. Documents are submitted digitally, and you can pay the challan online when it reflects on the government portal.
  2. If unpaid for more than three months, you must appear in virtual court, submit a file with the same documents, and take a token for the hearing.
  3. After paying the fine, you will also need to take the receipt to the Traffic Tower for clearance.

Traffic challans are classified as physical and digital. Physical challans are issued on-site by officers, while digital challans are processed online through government systems.

• A court appearance is mandatory for serious violations such as:
  • Drink and drive
  • Rash or dangerous driving
  • Misbehavior with police or authorities
  • Using black film on windows
  • No entry violations
  • Racing
• For minor violations, such as jumping a red light or not wearing a seatbelt, a court appearance is generally not required.
